Fridge Crime Scene

Dex buys a new gadget every week. Most of them end up in The Drawer. This week Kit put on yellow gloves, opened the fridge, and lifted the lid on something at the back of the bottom shelf. It moved. Dex says it's his sourdough starter. Kit says it has a pulse.

Fridges get scary for one reason: things slide to the back, out of sight, and stay there. Dex's latest impulse buy gives everything a lane.

What the Utopia Home Clear Stackable Fridge Storage Bins, 8 Pack actually does

It's a set of eight clear, open-top bins:

• Zone. Give each bin a job: drinks, snacks, produce, and an eat-first bin for leftovers.
• Slide. Each bin is 12.4 inches long, 6.2 inches wide and 3.5 inches tall, with a built-in handle, so you pull the whole bin forward instead of digging.
• Stack. The bins stack, and because they're clear you can see what's in each one without opening anything.

They're not dishwasher safe, so wash them by hand with mild soap and water. The 8-pack costs under $25. Check Amazon for the current price, and measure your shelves before you buy.

Snag it or skip it?

Kit's ruling: the bins stay. Gerald is on probation.
